Payr Reloaded
I led the design and development of a new Visa‑based open‑loop payment platform for iCheque’s Payr brand, created to expand their digital payments offering and improve cross‑border card acceptance.
The project combined in‑depth user research, UX design, and technical implementation to deliver a secure, compliant, and user‑friendly payment experience integrated into merchant systems across multiple regions.

Cashflows & iCheque
iCheque sought to expand its digital payments offering under the Payr brand by launching a Visa-based open-loop solution.
The goal was to enhance card acceptance for international merchants, improve fraud prevention measures, and deliver a seamless, privacy‑focused consumer payment experience.
As the lead developer and UX lead, I designed and built a greenfield web and mobile solution integrating with Visa’s open-loop payment network.
I led competitor and UX research, user interviews, and iterative prototyping to define the end‑to‑end user journey and interface design.
I also served as the main liaison between stakeholders, clients, and the technical team throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Challenges
Key challenges included aligning complex financial compliance and security requirements with user‑friendly design principles, and ensuring cross‑platform consistency between mobile and web.
Coordinating input from multiple stakeholders across technical, business, and product domains required careful communication and prioritisation.
Outcomes
The platform launched successfully and was integrated into merchant payment systems across multiple regions.
Follow‑up user experience testing reported strong satisfaction scores, while the open‑loop framework improved transaction success rates and enhanced fraud prevention capabilities, strengthening CashFlows’ cross‑border payment offering.
